February is
National Bird Feeding Month
February was declared National Bird Feeding Month by the United States Congress in 1994. With over 50 million Americans feeding backyard birds, it's one of our most beloved connections to nature—and a tradition worth celebrating.

The Great Backyard Bird Count
The GBBC is a free, annual four-day citizen science event where people count birds in their local areas for at least 15 minutes. Your observations help scientists track bird populations, migration patterns, and overall health.
Organized by Cornell Lab of Ornithology, National Audubon Society, and Birds Canada, it is a global effort connecting people to nature while providing vital data for conservation. Submit your data via birdcount.org, eBird, or the Merlin Bird ID app.
Attract More Birds to Your Backyard
You can increase the variety of birds that visit by providing the appropriate food in the right location. There are three common backyard bird feeding categories: ground-feeding, elevated feeding, and a combination of both.
To attract a high diversity of species, platform, tray, and hopper feeders are most preferred—and they love our AspenSong Choice Mix.
